Wedding Dance Lessons

What is the VW Dance wedding first dance program?

It is a private 7-lesson course (7 hours total) created for couples who want a first dance that feels natural, elegant and truly theirs. Every lesson is one-on-one with the instructor on a private floor: no group classes, no mirrors filled with strangers, no generic routine recycled from couple to couple.

How does the program work?

  1. Lesson 1 — Foundation. Posture, connection and the basic step of the style that fits your song.
  2. Lessons 2–5 — Choreography. Your first dance is built phrase by phrase on your actual wedding song, including the entrance and the final pose.
  3. Lessons 6–7 — Performance. Polish, timing with the music, and rehearsal under performance conditions so the dance holds up to nerves, dress and shoes.

Do you also prepare father-daughter and mother-son dances?

Yes — the parent dances get the same care as the first dance. A father-daughter dance or mother-son dance is usually ready in 2–3 private lessons: a short, elegant routine on your chosen song, with steps calibrated to both dancers so the moment feels natural in front of the guests. Many families book these alongside the couple’s program so the whole wedding party is prepared.

Why choose private wedding dance lessons?

  • Personal choreography — designed around your song, your venue and your comfort level, not a template.
  • Faster progress — one hour of private instruction typically replaces several group sessions.
  • Flexible scheduling — lessons are booked by appointment around your wedding planning.
  • A calm setting — one instructor, one couple, one dance floor.

Wedding Dance Lessons: common questions

How many dance lessons do we need before our wedding?

Most couples are confidently ready after the full 7-lesson program. If your wedding is close, a condensed plan can be arranged — the choreography is adapted to the time you have.

When should we start wedding dance lessons?

Ideally 3 to 6 months before the wedding. That allows roughly one lesson per week or every other week, with time to practice and adjust the choreography to your song, your outfits and your venue's floor.

Can you choreograph our first dance to any song?

Yes. The choreography is built around the song you choose — waltz, rumba, swing or a fusion. If you have not chosen yet, you will get guidance on songs that fit your style and comfort level.

We have never danced before. Is that a problem?

No. The program is designed for absolute beginners. Because every lesson is private, the pace adapts to you — there is no group to keep up with.

Do you teach father-daughter wedding dances?

Yes. Father-daughter dances are prepared in private lessons, usually in 2–3 sessions for a simple, elegant routine set to your chosen song. The choreography respects both dancers' comfort level — moving, memorable, and never awkward.

Do you teach mother-son wedding dances?

Yes. Mother-son dances follow the same private format: a short, heartfelt routine built on your song, typically ready in 2–3 lessons, with steps chosen so both partners look and feel natural.
